A sander corded or cordless is a hand operated electric powered tool which is used along with sandpaper to smoothen rough wooden surfaces. It comes with an attachment to which sandpaper is fixed, the sander rotates this attachment(to which sandpaper is attached) at a rapid speed and when applied it starts smoothing the rough wood surface.
It can also be attached to the workbench.
The common types of sander which are generally preferred are as follows -
Disc Sander - It is one of most common electric sander which is used for sanding purpose
Detail Sander - It is used to smoothen tight corner areas.
Orbital Sander - It is used for very fine sanding.
